Last updated: [fill in date before publishing]
Before you publish this: this is a genuine starting template covering what the app actually collects, but it is not legal advice. Have a lawyer review it before your real launch — especially since you handle payment-adjacent data and vendor business information, and requirements vary by state (and country, if you ever ship internationally).
Information we collect
- Customer accounts: email address and a securely hashed password (we never store your actual password). Optionally, saved delivery addresses.
- Payment information: handled entirely by Stripe, our payment processor. We never see or store your full card number — Stripe securely tokenizes it.
- Order information: delivery address, items purchased, and order status, tied to your account if you're signed in.
- Vendor applications: business name, contact email and phone number, business address, and uploaded certification/licensing documents, if you apply to become a vendor.
- Reviews: if you leave a product or vendor review, it's associated with your account.
- Contact form submissions: name, email, phone number (if provided), and your message, sent to our support team.
How we use this information
- To process and fulfill your orders, including coordinating with the vendors you order from
- To communicate with you about your orders, account, or support requests
- To verify and onboard vendors, including reviewing kosher certification documentation
- To detect and prevent fraud or abuse of the platform
Third parties we share data with
- Stripe — payment processing and, for vendors, payout management. Stripe has its own privacy policy governing the payment data it handles.
- Resend (or your email provider) — delivering contact form messages and account-related emails.
- We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
Data retention
We retain account and order information for as long as your account is active, and as needed to comply with tax and financial recordkeeping obligations. You can request deletion of your account at any time (see below).
Your rights
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us at thekosherfoodofnyc@gmail.com. Depending on your state of residence, you may have additional rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).
Children's privacy
This service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do.
